Reverend Willie Pringle, Jr.

Reverend Pringle was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on January 4, 1942 to the late Willie and Ida Wright Pringle.  He departed this life at 11:45 PM on Monday, March 7, 2005.  His home going service was held on Friday, March 11, 2005, at Reid Chapel A.M.E. Church, Columbia, South Carolina.


Reverend Pringle was educated in the public schools in the community of Wedgefield, which is located in Sumter County, South Carolina.  At an early age he joined Orange Hill A.M.E. Church where he was a faithful member.


He has been a mainstay in the gospel music community in South Carolina and beyond.  His group Reverend Pringle and The Melodyettes was always sure to bless those attending any service where they appeared.


Those left to cherish his precious memories are, his wife, Eartha Lee Fanning Pringle; sons, Willie (Kimberly) Pringle, Michael Pringle, Jesse Pringle, Thaddeus Pringle, William Pringle, Allen (Trina) Pringle; daughters, Wanda Pringle, Wygeania Ellis, Patricia Pringle; brothers, Aaron Pringle, Elder Freddie (Johnnie Mae) Pringle, Jimmy (Rebecca) Pringle, Elder Isaac (Patricia) Pringle, Ezzel (Gloria) Pringle; sister, Lue Ida Pringle Outen, thirteen grandchildren, nieces, nephews and an host of loving relatives and friends.
